Description
This course covers Spanish language proficiency and cultural studies, divided into nine key units:
- Spanish Identity – Regional variations, separatism, and cultural identity
- Cultural Heritage – Art, literature, and historical influences
- Modern Times – Contemporary issues and societal changes
- Politics – Government, activism, and democracy in Spain
- Multiculturalism and Racism – Immigration, integration, and diversity
- Media – Social media, journalism, and digital influence
- Customs & Celebrations – Festivals and traditions in Spanish-speaking countries
- The Internet and Its Influence – Digital communication and its impact
- Exam Preparation – Practice exercises and assessment strategies
You will also complete an independent research project on a topic of your choice related to Spanish-speaking cultures.

Students will complete three exams:
- Paper 1: Listening, Reading, and Writing – 2 hours 30 minutes, 50% of A-Level, 100 marks

- Paper 3: Speaking – 21-23 minutes (including 5 minutes preparation), 30% of A-Level, 60 marks
