Overview
This course covers the design of control schemes and implementation inside a DCS or PLC. The course covers how to design and implement various advanced control schemes using real plant examples.
The course shows you how to conceptualize the design of APC schemes for maximizing production rates, minimizing utilities, developing schemes to improve the plant’s operating efficiencies, protecting equipment from overloading, and avoiding shutdowns. The course discusses how to build both standard and custom function blocks inside any DCS or PLC. This includes batch control, continuous control, and sequence control.
The course takes specific examples of how to build complex and advanced control schemes using a variety of standard and custom blocks in the DCS or PLC.

Description
Our APC275 (PLC/DCS-based Advanced Process Control Implementation Tips) training course is very practical and easy to understand for everyone: engineers, technicians, operators, and students – both new and experienced. That is why our customers consider us the best.
This training course covers the basics of the design of continuous and batch control schemes inside any DCS/PLC and the ability to look at a process flow diagram or P&ID and based on operations goals and objectives, design and implement the appropriate control schemes inside any DCS or PLC.
Our course is more hands-on than any competitor. Students can download and install process control software products on their personal laptops for use during our process control training. The software products are full-blown industrial process control software applications used by the industry. This level of hands-on approach tremendously aids the learning process and mastering process control theory and practicals.
Our instructors have over 30 years of industrial experience and process control training experience. They not only have the technical process control knowledge but also skills to make sure participants are fully engaged and able to concentrate on the material.
As part of the APC275 training course, you will only get the possibility to install the following powerful software product on your own computers (7-day free training license):
• PITOPS – system identification, PID tuning optimization, and APC design
After competition of our full-blown APC275 training course, you will get an international diploma as a process control expert in the field of advanced process control scheme implementation in DCS or PLC, and you will get also the possibility to install our simulation and optimization process control software for the time period of more than one month.
The usage of the above software packages is limited only to personal educational purposes, not for any industrial or commercial use.
Who is this course for?
- Process Control Engineers, Advanced Process Control Engineers and Instrument Engineers
- Lab Technicians and DCS/PLC Technicians
- Managers and Supervisors
Requirements
Courses in Industrial Advanced Process Control and Optimization, Primary Process Control and PID Tuning are prerequisites for this course since it is continuing to develop knowledge and skills based on the courses mentioned.
