Description
TFL website says: An English language requirement applies to all applications for private hire drivers licences received by TfL on, or after, 14 October 2016. This includes applications for both renewal and new licences. It is essential for public safety that all licensed private hire drivers are able to communicate in English at an appropriate level.
TFL website also says: We have introduced a requirement for applicants for a London private hire vehicle (PHV) driver’s licence to demonstrate an understanding of safety, equality and regulatory matters. The requirement came into force on 1 October 2021 and it applies to both new applicants and those applying to renew their licence.
It is essential that London PHV drivers have an appropriate understanding of safety, equality and the regulatory requirements that apply to them. This helps ensure public safety and will enhance levels of customer service.
