Description

Prolonged use of computer workstations and display screen equipment (DSE) can lead to neck, shoulder, back or arm pain, along with stress, fatigue and temporary eye strain.

This course is suitable for anyone who has to carry out DSE risk assessments in the workplace and includes two DSE risk and workstation assessment templates that you can use in your workplace.

In this course you will learn why DSE is important and what health risks are associated with using DSE for extended periods of time and how these health risks can be reduced/avoided.

You will learn about the DSE legislation, regulations and guidance, which you must be aware of as a DSE assessor and your roles and responsibilities as a DSE assessor and how to ensure people know how to use DSE safely.

You will also gain knowledge on how to handle concerns/complaints and how to carry out a DSE assessment.

In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.

You will earn 3 CPD points on completion of the course, this course will take around 3 hours to complete and the certificate will last for two years.

  • Unit 1 – Introduction to DSE – In the first unit of the DSE Assessor training course, you will explore what DSE is and why it is important. You will also learn about DSE legislation, regulations and guidance.
  • Unit 2 – The Roles and Responsibilities – In this unit you will examine what the roles and responsibilities are of a DSE assessor and how to ensure people know how to use DSE safety as well as how you can handle concerns and complaints.
  • Unit 3 – Carrying out a DSE Assessment – In this unit you will explore why DSE assessments are important, what they can achieve and how to carry out a DSE assessment by following the five steps.
  • Unit 4 – The Correct Workstation – In the final unit of the DSE Assessor training course, you will explore in detail how to ensure DSE users workstations are correctly set up and when changes may be needed.
