- Being at one with nature has been shown to protect the psychological wellbeing of children. This course considers this, and additional benefits of outdoor learning, on the healthy development of children.
- This course asks you to think about the importance of reasonable risk-taking for children, and the conflict that can sometimes arise between the curiosity of children and the protective instinct of adults. This course contains reading text on risks and hazards to be mindful of when planning and delivering outdoor learning sessions.
- If you are keen to deliver an outdoor activity in a woodland yourself, there is a recommended kit list and presentation on ‘understanding woodlands’ that will help.
