Our Online GCSE Maths Course enables students to:
Revise using practice questions and video tutorials
Start with the basics and work through the topics in a logical order that build on top of each other.
Store your scores and track your progress.
Get better at answering GCSE maths exam questions.
Improve your application of knowledge to exam questions and real life situations.
The online GCSE maths course contains 7 key topic areas:
Numbers
Algebra
Graphs
Ratio and Proportion
Geometry
Trigonometry and Vectors
Probability and Statistics
Each topic area consists of multiple subtopics that are covered with expert video tutorials explaining each and every different type of question. Once you are feeling confident with a topic area you can then move onto exam style questions that look and feel like the real thing. This helps with application of knowledge. As with all parts of the online course, the exam questions are also covered with video solutions where an expert explains how to answer each question and what common mistakes you should avoid making.

Old Julezie asked:
Hi I need a Grade C GCSE or equiv in Maths in order to full fill my contract otherwise I will lose my job at the end of my trial. is this possible?
Answer:
Hi Julezie
Yes we help thousands of people get a GCSE or an equivalent qualification. The functional skills maths level 2 is accepted everywhere as a GCSE equivalent C grade (level 4 grade now). The functional skills is a cheaper, easier and much faster qualification to complete. We would recommend the Pass Functional Skills service for this.

Is this a proper full GCSE? is it higher or foundation?
Answer:
Hi Aisha
The course we provide is the full GCSE and there are the higher and foundation options available . The course is a lot more expensive through the MME platform, this is a limited time promotion through Reed that is being offered.

Hi I would like to enrol on PGCE but I don't have GCSE. Is this course right for me to get a qualification I need for PGCE?
Answer:
Hi Ludmila
You would be better going down the GCSE equivalency test route for PGCE teacher training through someone like A Star Equivalency. This exam can be sat all year round where as the GCSE can only be done in November and June, with results released in August so if you don't pass you would miss the PGCSE deadlines in September.
Hi I'm looking to get a qualification in math. what's the best course to begin with?
Answer:
Hi Lorin
It depends on what you need the qualification for. Functional skills is the most popular GCSE equivalent and can be taken all year round and is accepted by the vast majority of University courses and employers. The full GCSE is the gold standard but can only be taken twice a year, in the summer and in November.
I need maths gcse c or above for applying to do a teaching degree. Will this be enough for me?
Answer:
Hi Emily
To do a PGCE we would recommend A Star Equivalency as the UK's number 1 support service for teacher training entry. You will be able to sit a GCSE through that service at a much lower cost. Our standard exam fees are £300 per qualification.
✓ Can I do a degree with this qualification and if not which is better?
Answer:
Hi David
Yes the GCSE course along with the exam can be used to gain access into University. Usually the easiest and cheapest route is to complete a functional skills maths level 2 which is a GCSE equvialent. We would recommend looking at the Pass Functional Skills service for this, otherwise we are more than happy to help you with the GCSE. The course is the price advertised and the exam fee is £299.
I hope this helps

Hi, I would like to know if this course is free of if we have to pay. Also how long is this course? Is this course recomendable for a current yr10.
Answer:
Hi Kushbu
You would need to pay the fees as stated on the Reed website. The course is recommended 90+hours but learners take whatever time they need. I hope this helps
Good Morning,
Hope you are well.
Is there an exam you need to sit for this course?
Also, will this give you a GCSE at the end?
Answer:
Hi Jamie
This course covers the entire GCSE maths specification, but to get the formal qualification at the end you would need to sit an exam. We can help you to book to book your exam at a significantly reduced price. We also have alternative qualifications such as functional skills, which are run through the Pass Functional Skills service. If you have any other questions please let me know.
QTS Team
How do you get the GCSE qualification? Do you sit exams? If so, where and are they included in the price?
Answer:
Hi Russell
No it is only the course that is included. The average cost of a GCSE course and exam is around £500. MME are the cheapest exam option for GCSE maths and they have centres around the country.
If you have any questions please let us know.

Hi, how is the main exam presented? Can it be done via online using laptop with webcam or smart phone? Or do you have to do the exam in a centre?
Answer:
Hi Jannat
All GCSE exams have to be taken in a local exam centre, you can not do them online. However, there are GCSE Equivalents called functional skills that you can do online and these are accepted by Universities and employers as a GCSE. To do functional skills we advise people Google Pass Functional Skills and this service should be able to help you with this qualification. If you need GCSE then please book with us directly through Reed.
Hello - I failed my maths GCSE at school so would like to do this to further employment opportunities. Is this accepted by employers as a math GCSE?
Answer:
Hi Rachel
Yes we register people for the Ofqual regulated exams. However, our recommendation is that people sit Functional Skills as a GCSE equivalent and the best service for this by far is Pass Functional Skills. Give this a Google and I am sure they will be happy to help. If you wish to go ahead with your GCSE instead by all means sign up to our service through Reed.
Hi Fabio
The GCSE course goes from level 1-9 with level 1 being the lowest grade and level 9 being the highest (equivalent to an effective A** in the old grading system). The level 4 is the minimum level considered as a pass, which is needed for Uni and job applications throughout the UK.

Will the course end with an exam and qualification or do we have to find and fund an exam ourselves
Answer:
Hi Jennifer
We can book your exam at the end of the course and guarantee to offer the lowest cost Ofqual regulated exam available from any provider. Current costs for November 2022 are £250 and the same for May 2023. As the dates get closer, the exam boards introduce late booking fees and the costs of the exams increase.
I hope this helps.

Could you please clarify as to why you fail to show the reviews left by customers?
Answer:
Hi Anon,
Thank you for your question, this however is something that Reed.co.uk will need to investigate. Your question has been forwarded to the Reed.co.uk customer service team.
Thanks
Why is this course advertised as £225 with a regulated qualification yet it does not include the cost of any examinations?
Answer:
Hi Anon
This is a naïve question. Please look at every provider who offers Ofqual regulated exams like we do. If you want something for free we advise you go to your local college and the government will fund this for you but be prepared to enrol for the entire year and you have to attend classes. If you want to study privately then you will have to pay for this. Standard exam costs are around £300, sometimes more. Please have a Google and you will see.
Hi i work in a school would like to apply for a TA job but dont have my maths or English GSCE would this course be enough
Answer:
Hi Debra
We would recommend the functional skills as an easier and more accessible alternative to the GCSE. Please be aware any courses charging less than a few hundred pounds will not include the exam fee. A typical GCSE exam fee is around £300 and for functional skills £200.
I hope this helps

Hi, I would like to ask after completing the course I'll get a certificate or not.
Answer:
Hi Rimsha
To get an Ofqual regulated exam certificate you would need to sit the exam after the course access. The typical cost of a GCSE maths exam is around £300. There are cheaper alternatives such as the functional skills maths level 2 which we can help you with.
Regards
QTS Team
Hi Josh
This is an online course, you can book the exam through our service separately. The typical cost of a GCSE exam is around £250 regardless of which provider you book it through. Any provider offering 'exams' for less than this it is extremely unlikely they are Oqual regulated exams and therefore the exam result won't be recognised anywhere. There are cheaper alternatives to the GCSE it just depends on what you need the qualification for?
Regards
QTS Team
Could you please explain the exam process and how this is done? I.e in person or do we have the option of online exam? thank you
Answer:
Hi Justine
All GCSE maths exams have to be sat in person at an approved exam centre, there is no such thing as an online GCSE maths exam, not one that is Ofqual approved. However, there are GCSE equivalent qualifications such as the GCSE equivalency tests offered by 'A Star Equivalency' and functional skills qualifications offered by 'Pass Functional Skills' which can be taken online from home. We can support you with all GCSE qualifications and booking them.
Hi, if I apply now (Jan 2022) when is the earliest I can do the exam? In Bradford where would it be? Is the exam fee included in this payment?
Answer:
Hi Abbas
You could do the exam as early as the end of this week and all of our exams are conducted from home with 1-2-1 invigilation so you will not have to travel. The exam is not included in the payment and would be an additional £225. Any provider offering 'cheap' exams with their course then just double check they are Ofqual regulated as otherwise they are worthless and won't be accepted by Universities or employers as a GCSE equivalent.
Hi are the exams in a centre? If so which location? Are there anywhere in Leicester?
Answer:
Hi Sarah
Yes the exams are in a centre and yes there are exam centres in Leicester we work with. One thing to note is if you are looking to book for November then you would need to do so ASAP to avoid late entry fees and ensure you get a place at a centre close to you.

QTS Customer Service
Hi
If I purchase today will I be able to take the test in November?
Thank you
Answer:
Hi Selina
Yes you can take the test in November still but we do need bookings by the end of this week to avoid late exam booking fees with the exam boards.
Regards
MME
Hi Tanya
The GCSE exam centres we work with are all over the country. In most instances there is a centre within 20 minutes of people, especially in the cities. If you live in a more rural location then you may have to travel a little further but usually not that far.

Is the certificate for this course accepted for a nursing degree application??
Answer:
Hi Peciance
The exam at the end of the course provides a GCSE qualification that will be accepted by a nursing degree providers. You may also want to look at functional skills as this is an easier route, is a GCSE equivalent and is often used by nurses. We would recommend MME for the nursing functional skills route.
Are the exams done online computer based or at a Center in person.
Answer:
Hi Eunice
All GCSE exams have to be done in a centre. However, we do offer functional skills level 2 exams that are a GCS equivalent and can be done online. These are Ofqual regualted exams and therefore are accepted by Universities and employers.
Regards
QTS
Hi, how are exams conducted? are they online, or will I have to find an exam centre? thankyou.
Answer:
Hi Thomas
It depends whether you opt for a GCSE maths exam or a GCSE equivalent exam such as functional skills. Both are Ofqual regulated and both exams we can help with. The GCSE has to be sat in a local centre, the functional skills can be sat at home online. If you have any other questions please let me know.
Hi! I heard that the GCSEs are cancelled this year due to Covid but is that only for school students or does that apply to anyone that takes the Exam?
Answer:
Hi Elin
The GCSE's are now being completed via the teacher assessed grade route. For external candidates you can book through services such as MME to get your GCSE result this summer.
Hi there. Do you provide the examinations to gain the Level 2/GCSE qualification too? How do I go about organising this please? Thanks for your help.
Answer:
Hi Jamie
If you wish to purchase the GCSE course, then you can do so through Reed. If you wish to book a GCSE or level 2 exam, we suggest our partners at MME.
Hello, after this course can I use this course for employer, can I go to study at college or university
Answer:
Hi Maya
The course prepares you for a level 2 qualification but the advertised price does not include the exam. However, we do offer the Ofqual regulated exam and we guarantee to offer the lowest online exam available anywhere. As GCSE exams are cancelled this year, the only option is to go for the level 2 which is a GCSE equivalent.
I hope this helps.
Regards
QTS Service
Hi Adam
No this course doesn't include the exam. We can book you into an iGCSE exam which are still taking place this summer. Depending on which test centre is local to you this would be approximately £200 extra on top of the course fee. To book a combination of course and exam together through Reed we would recommend MME.

Alex

FAQs
Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.
CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.
A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.
An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
