What students say about the Graphic Designer Development Course atLondon Fields Design School:

"I've spent the last 15 years as a musician, songwriter, chef and barista. In the last two years, I've been making my way into graphic design. I stumbled upon LFDS when researching courses I could take to extend my arsenal and to be able to say 'yes' to more with the confidence that I can see it through. LFDS stood out not just because of the directly practical approach to design, but also because of the way one can navigate through the course. Life is a mad, hectic stressful thing much of the time, so having the freedom to coordinate the course around my world has made the whole experience much easier to take on.

When I think about what I want from life, it seems 'to create' is at the heart of it all. The design world offers me the opportunity to do just that, while also problem-solving, working alongside others and stimulating my brain. LFDS has certainly played a part in helping me obtain the confidence I've needed to step into a new world." - Joe

"I am a creative working as a social media and content creator in the climate sector. I am developing a passion for illustration and am exploring my own personal projects in sustainable fashion at LDFS. I am really enjoying building on my graphic design skills and using them to bring awareness and interest to issues like climate change and human rights. I love that LDFS gives me the space, support and confidence to explore these interests.

I originally chose LDFS because I had heard really good things and due to its flexibility to study around a full time job but it has become an integral part of my life and I look forward to my modules every week. I'd love to eventually be a freelance graphic designer/illustrator working with a number of charities in the climate or human rights sector. And maybe when I get much older, be an illustrator for books!” - Sally

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
