Aim of the course

To provide skills and knowledge for middle managers, helping them to develop and improve performance and prepare for senior management responsibilities.

This course is designed to be taken over 3 months, but if you wish to work through at a quicker pace that is no problem. There will be three 1-day tutor-led online classroom sessions.

Learning Outcomes

Unit 1: Developing your Leadership Style

  1. Understand own ability to fulfil key responsibilities of the leadership role by the use a range of leadership styles, in different situations and with different types of people
  2. Understand theories of emotional intelligence and review the effect of emotions on own and others’ performance
  3. Be able to evaluate your ability to lead others by to set direction and communicate
  4. Be able to evaluate your own ability to motivate, delegate and empower others

Unit 3: Managing Individual Development
