Overview
The core aim of the programme is to provide delegates with the required knowledge, skills and understanding to coach or mentor others at an executive or senior level.
We have been approved by ILM to offer this qualification as a blended learning combination, with a requirement to attend the classroom for only two days. The remaining work required is made up of guided learning hours and 3 work-based assignments, with 12 months tutor support.
This enables you to gain the full ILM Level 7 Certificate Qualification whilst only having to take 2 days away from the workplace, as the rest of the work is done in your own time when it is convenient for you.
The suggested timeframe for programme completion is 9-12 months (including assessment of all three modules), however it is possible for delegates to complete the course within a shorter/longer timeframe. The timeframe will depend primarily on you, as it will be dependent on you completing the hours required for the practical assessment.
To successfully achieve the qualification, delegates are required to pass all three module assessments. Further details of which can be found below in the course description.

Qualification
Level 7 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring
Description
The qualification is made up of three core modules that enable delegates to understand, develop and demonstrate knowledge and skills in executive coaching and mentoring.
- The first module 'Understanding the Context of Coaching and Mentoring in a Strategic Business Environment' explores the context of coaching and mentoring in a strategic business environment, and aims to provide delegates with an understanding of the principles and practice required for effective coaching and mentoring at an executive or senior level.
- In the second module 'Undertaking Coaching or Mentoring at a Senior and Strategic Level', delegates are expected to plan, prepare and maintain accurate and auditable records for 20 hours of coaching or mentoring at an executive or senior level with one or more people.
- In the final module 'Reflecting on Your Own Ability to Perform Effectively as a Coach or Mentor Practising at a Senior Level', delegates have the opportunity to review their own ability to perform effectively as an executive coach or mentor at a senior level. This is done by critically reviewing their communication skills, emotional intelligence and ability to build relationships in diverse environments, and developing a personal profile that illustrates their coaching approach.

Questions and answers
Will there be videoconferencing facilities for this course in February and April given we do not yet know when lockdown restrictions may be lifted?
Answer:We have video conference ILM 7 Certificate in Executive Coaching & Mentoring courses scheduled to start on 2 March 2021 and 11 May 2021. Dates are being loaded on the Reed website this week. It is likely the February course will be postponed and the April date remain scheduled for those who prefer the classroom environment to videoconferencing.
This was helpful. Is this course still going ahead given we are in lockdown 2? Would the 2 days of teaching be undertaken virtually?
Answer:Hi Martin Thank you for your query. Courses in Reading and London are being run by videoconferencing on the scheduled dates for November and December. Courses in Nottingham are running face to face as scheduled (in a Covid secure environment), with a videoconferencing option if you would prefer this. Andrew Kay
This was helpful. You information here indicaes level 7 but some alos refers to level 3 certificate. Please confirm the right level
Answer:Hi Phyllis Thank you for your enquiry. The reference to level 3 is an error by us. It should be level 7. This has now been corrected. MY apologies for this. Andrew Kay
