Description

Intermittent fasting is a dietary protocol designed to help you towards your body goals, no matter what they are – weight loss, muscle gain, improved digestive health, etc.

However, it is fundamentally different from most other standard dietary protocols and, in many ways, it can offer a lot more flexibility. Whereas most control what you eat, intermittent fasting dictates when you eat – scheduling your daily or weekly nutrient intake to allow room for periodic fasts.

The Intermittent Fasting Diploma Course will guide you through using the dietary protocol to safely and effectively reach your goals.

In the Intermittent Fasting Diploma Course, we will explore the dietary protocol’s goals – what they are, the purposes they serve, how they are elicited, why they might be significant, and how anybody can achieve them.

To get the most from intermittent fasting, the course guides you through the fundamentals of nutrition – ensuring you know everything you need to in order to structure a balanced, healthy eating plan. This includes discussions on macronutrients – fats, carbohydrates and proteins – as well as micronutrients, in the form of vitamins and minerals.

You’ll be shown how intermittent fasting protocols can be structured, how some of the more common implementation methods work, and how they can be used to manipulate the human body for a variety of outcomes.

We’ll explore intermittent fasting’s use for weight loss, hypertrophy (muscle gain), insulin health, digestive health, the health of the internal organs, protection against certain diseases, longevity, improved energy levels and gastric comfort.

We’ll take an in-depth look at how to incorporate intermittent fasting into other eating plans and how to incorporate other eating plans into intermittent fasting. Whether it is a high-protein diet, a keto diet, a Mediterranean diet, or any different protocol that regulates what should be eaten, we will discuss how to align it with the goals of intermittent fasting.

By studying this course, you will:

  • Know how to use intermittent fasting safely and effectively
  • Understand the benefits and uses of intermittent fasting
  • Learn about the nutritional requirements of the body
  • Be able to use intermittent fasting to reach specific goals

Who is this course for?

This course will be beneficial to you if you are looking for a flexible diet and a greater understanding of your body’s nutritional requirements in order to structure an eating plan that meets your goals, whatever they may be – weight loss, muscle gain, improved strength and athleticism, improved gut health, and so on.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
