Description
On completion of the course, students will gain an understanding of what Meditation and Mindfulness is, the different types and the processes involved. We will cover the historical roots and traditions of medication and the science and benefits of meditation and Mindfulness.
Students will learn about mindfulness meditation, guided visualization, body scan and relaxation, loving-kindness meditation, breath awareness and Zen meditation which involves developing insight into the nature of body and mind.
We will cover mindful breathing, walking and movement and students will learn about mindfulness in communication and stress management. We will look at establishing a regular practice and also focus on mindfulness in relationships, parenting, and education. Students will learn about mindfulness at work and in creativity and wellbeing.
In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.
You will earn 3 CPD points on completion of the course, this course will take around 3 hours to complete and the certificate will last for two years.
Units covered
- Unit 1 - Introduction to Meditation and Mindfulness - In the first unit we will cover what meditation and mindfulness is. Students will cover the historical roots and traditions as well as the science and benefits of meditation and Mindfulness.
- Unit 2 - Meditation Techniques - In this unit students will learn about mindfulness meditation techniques which help in your day to day life. We will cover guided visualization, loving-kindness mediation, body scan and relaxation. Students will also learn about breath awareness and Zen meditation.
- Unit 3 - Mindfulness Practices Introduction - In unit 3 students will learn about the different types and processes of mindfulness and meditation including mindful breathing, mindful eating and eating meditation. We will also cover mindfulness in communication and stress management.
- Unit 4 - Integrating Mindfulness into Life - In the final unit we will cover establishing a regular practice and mindfulness in relationships. We will cover mindful parenting and education and well as mindfulness in work, creativity and wellbeing.

Requirements
You are required to complete a 30 question multiple choice quiz at the end of the course. Where you need to achieve at least 80% or above to pass. You can complete the quiz as many times as you need to pass.
