Overview

The IQ Level 4 Award in Covert Surveillance Operations (Advanced) is a qualification designed to develop and provide formal recognition of learners’ knowledge, understanding and competence of surveillance techniques. Surveillance is the monitoring of the behaviour, activities or other changing information, usually of people for the purpose of intelligence gathering as part of an investigation into unlawful or illegal activity, or for enforcement activities. The qualification provides learners with a progression from the smaller Intermediate Award by expanding further on their knowledge and skills and prepares them to progress to the larger Certificate sized surveillance sector qualification, which in turn covers additional aspects of covert surveillance.

  • 10 day course advancing covert surveillance skills and tactics previously
  • Organising teamwork in surveillance operations.
  • Organising advanced foot and mobile covert surveillance.
  • Obtaining and collating information via surveillance operations.
  • Conducting public transport surveillance.
  • Conducting surveillance on a target who is using multi storey car parks and multiple levels/exits in built up areas.
  • Dealing with the threat of anti-surveillance.
  • Dealing with the threat of compromises and counter surveillance.
  • Understand the elements of the surveillance team and how to use them effectively in any environment.
  • Organising counter surveillance operations.
  • Learn about the legislation and the surveillance codes of practise as well as producing a formal typed surveillance report.

Who is this course for?

This qualification is aimed at those who wish to gain a recognised qualification within the surveillance industry whether they are new to the industry or eager to learn new skills and tactics. The Advanced course will have you hitting the ground running within the surveillance industry.

Requirements

Must be able to work at a Level 3 or above.

Must either hold a valid driving licence or have the means to be able to learn to drive in the future.

Career path

Learners can progress to the IQ Level 4 Award in Covert Surveillance Operations - Certificate or they can progress in their career as a covert surveillance operative.
