The Level 4 Course gives the breadth of knowledge across all areas of FM to support learners to develop into a senior role. You will be moving away from direct supervision of functions and onto looking after whole facilities, with their complex stakeholders. These roles command £45,000 to £55,000pa.
This course is delivered via our well-established Virtual Learning Environment. All course content is fully available via the screen or for download and can be accessed anytime, anywhere so you can plan your own schedule. Additional specialist units are also available via the IWFM portal, directly from The Business School.

Description
Facilities management professionals are responsible for services that support business. Their roles can cover management of a wide range of areas including health and safety, risk management, business continuity, procurement, sustainability, space planning, energy, property and asset management. They are typically responsible for activities such as catering, cleaning, building maintenance, environmental services, security and reception.
This course offers opportunities for learners to develop skills that support career and professional development.
The Level 4 Certificate gives a broad understanding of the professional and provides the skills needed to complete complex, non-routine tasks within workplace and facilities management. It's for you if you work at an operational management level or if you are aspiring to these roles and want to stretch and develop your knowledge and capability.
The course offers a flexible approach is includes five mandatory units:
Overview of Facilities Management
Understanding FM strategy
Understanding people management in FM
Understanding FM support services operations
Managing health and safety in own area of facilities management
You will then choose three optional units, chosen from a broad variety, including:
Understanding leadership and management in facilities management
Understanding facilities management projects – you will need to complete this unit based on a project within your current workplace, supported by learning materials on the VLE.
FM4.07 Understanding financial management in facilities management - 6 credits

On successful completion of these qualifications, recognition by employers enables learners to progress into or within employment and/or continue their study in the vocational area.
Successful learners can progress onto the Level 5 qualifications in Facilities Management , all available through The Business School.

Requirements
IWFM does not state any formal entry requirements, but learners will normally be practising middle management or may be progressing from a Level 3 Qualification in Facilities Management.
A good standard of written English is required for this course - GCSE grade A-C.

You will have the knowledge to manage a whole facility with its complex stakeholders and contracts. Roles are varied in sectors but command in excess of £50000 with many currently being advertised.
The achievement of this qualification may be eligible for full membership of IWFM (MIWFM).
