Overview
This award will give you an introduction to exercise and fitness on both a personal level and as an introduction to employment opportunities within the fitness industry.
The qualification has been developed to reflect the necessary basic skills, knowledge and understanding required by today’s fitness and leisure industry such as exercise and fitness knowledge, healthy nutrition and delivery of an exercise session.
The qualification is aimed at people taking their first step towards a full Level 2 qualification.

On the course, you will cover:
- the basic structure and function of the human body in relation to exercise and fitness
- using a personal exercise programme utilising the principles of fitness (frequency, intensity, time, type and adherence)
- an introduction to the role of the fitness instructor
- an introduction to the fitness industry and careers in fitness
- the basic principles of assisting in leading an exercise session safely and effectively
- the benefits of a balanced diet and its contribution to a healthy lifestyle.
Who is this course for?
This course is a great starting point for anyone looking to begin a career in fitness. You do not have to be 16 years of age to complete the qualification

Career path
This qualification will give you entry on to the Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing qualification.

When the course will be start and how man hours it will take per day and exactly the time start?
Answer:Hello Rajaa. Thanks for your messages, apologies for the delay in responding, we have been closed over the bank holiday weekend. This qualification is comprised of 6 mandatory units will can be fully completed via distance learning. The course is flexible and is completed in your own time. We set you bite size chunks of work to complete and then plan in support calls to assess your knowledge and understanding. All worksheets and assignments are then completed submitted to us.

Answer:Hi Jack. Thanks for your message. The Level 1 Award in Fitness and Physical Activity is the complete starting point for anyone who is completely new to exercise and fitness. If you are already working in a sports centre and have some knowledge and experience already, it is probably worth moving straight to the Level 2 Gym Instructing qualification.
