Overview

The ProQual Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Decorative Finishing and Industrial Painting Occupations Construction) qualification provides a nationally recognised qualification for those working as painters in the construction industry.

Its main objective is to confirm the learner's occupational competence as a painter. Being a work-related, competence-based qualification it will provide, on completion, confirmation to employers, industry managers and card schemes that learners have the skills and knowledge needed to meet the nationally recognised standard to carry out their preferred role.

Description

There are three pathways for this qualification and candidates are expected to choose which of the pathways that is most relevant to their skills. The pathways are:

  • Pathway 1: Painter
  • Pathway 2: Industrial Painter
  • Pathway 3: Heritage Painter

Candidates must demonstrate the level of knowledge described in the unit. Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification.

Each candidate is required to produce evidence which demonstrates their achievement of all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.

Learners can leverage on the skills and knowledge acquired from achievement of this qualification when working towards earning another qualification or gaining employment.

The awarding organisation for this qualification is ProQual Awarding Body and the regulatory body is the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).

Who is this course for?

This course is for people who are already working as Painters/ industrial painters in the construction industry, that would like to prove their competence and get certified

Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.

ASQ will carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment.

Career path

This Qualification upon completion will lead to a CSCS Blue card and it is a good stepping stone in forwarding your career in painting to supervision and management levels.
