Hi are the students on this course observed interviewing at all ?
Answer:
Hi Tracy, we offer an all inclusive service, meaning that onsite observations are included in this price. When completing the onsite observations, you may use your own observer (if suitably qualified) or you may choose to use one of our observers.
I am currently working in IT, how would I be able to do the observation section?
Answer:
Hi Dawn. We would recommend sourcing a temporary position within your workplace, that will allow you to provide advice and guidance to clients. If this is not possible, students in that past have sourced voluntary placements in organisations such as Charities - this will be sufficient.
Hello,
How much of the course is practical/observational? Currently on mat leave, and wondering if evidence can be given remotely
Answer:
Hi Shereen, the majority of the course is covered through theory based essays and a smaller element is covered via practical observation. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are currently conducting observations remotely through Zoom/Skype. So yes, that would be absolutely fine.
Hi , is the Certificate in Career Guidance Theory included within this course? Will the price of this remain the same for a while? Thanks

Hi Wendy, not at all! We would need to observe you providing Advice and Guidance to clients or students within a workplace setting. If you're current workplace cannot facilitate this, previous students have found voluntary work placements with charities very helpful.
What does the course consist of? It is exam based, essays or portfolio?

Hi Maria, this qualification will be assessed through a combination of written essays, a portfolio of evidence and observation of occupational competence. All units, assignments and learning materials for the course can be accessed through our online learning platform.
Hi, I am considering enrolling 2 advisers on the basis that we will free up half a day per week study time. would this be adequate study time?
Answer:
Hi Phil, the guided learning hours provided by the body are 239 hours across the whole qualification unfortunately they don't break this up into a week by week.
However, we on average see this completed within 6-9 months but the 12 months is in place as it is designed to be self-paced.
It generally does depend on the individual but we do have many students who work full time on the course. Thank you!
I understand that course completion normally takes 6-9 months - but what is the weekly recommended study time? How many hours should be spent overall?
Answer:
Hi Amie, unfortunately the awarding organisation do not give a week-by-week study time break down. The official guided learning hours for the whole qualification as per the specification is 239. Thank you!
Are observations essential for this course? I am working on a project that is just ending, so not sure if I will have any further client meetings.
Answer:
Hi Kaz, yes the observations are a requirement of the qualification. The units 2, 7, 8, 9 are all client based so you could choose to focus on these units during your project if you wished to take the course. Thank you!

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.
An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
