An interesting question. This qualification is approved by OFQUAL for delivery to those who live or work in England. If you have fully paid up over the 12 months without break in payment, then we allow you flexibility even if you take longer than 12 months to complete the full qualification. We advise learners to complete the full qualification within 18 months (without asking for further payment from the learner), we allow up to complete 24 months but note that after 2 years some of the evidence starts getting really old.

Answer:

Yes, you can take this qualification without your employer knowing. We do not involve the employer or the manager, and we do not visit students in their workplace. You will still have to provide evidence of your skills-based leadership and management activities in your current job or jobs, but you will be given guidance on how to collect the required evidence.

This was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.
Michelle James asked:

I have no experience in Adult Care Managment. I would like to set up my own care agency. Can I do this course?

Answer:

The qualification requires the learner to provide current evidence of current practical skills as a manager in a care setting, which is why you have to be working as a manager in a care service. The qualification takes 800 hours to complete, which can take the learner between 12 and 24 months. We allow learners to start provided they understand that while on the course they must get a care management job to enable them to complete the skills-based assessment criteria for the qualification.

This was helpful. Thank you for your feedback.
Christopher asked:

If your not a manager will you still Be Illegible for this course? I’m a student and a support worker?

Answer:

Certain units require you to provide current practical real-work evidence of being a manager in a care setting in England, and if you are not a manager you not be able to generate such evidence. Those students who are not managers should study the Level 4 Certificate in Principles of Leadership and Management for Adult Care (RQF), which is also CQC-approved.
