Mental health first aid is an evidence-based, concise, and practical approach to assisting someone experiencing a mental health condition or crisis. It can be delivered in person by trained professionals or by anyone with a basic understanding of the core concepts.

For many people worldwide, it's not uncommon to experience depression or anxiety. However, not everyone with mental health problems reaches out for help- 30%, according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Around 25% of the UK population will experience a mental health problem at some point. Most are mild, short-term, and usually treated successfully with therapy and medication.

But it is still a significant problem. Mental Health First Aid teaches participants how to notice and support individuals experiencing mental health issues or exhibiting signs of substance use in a work environment. They are also taught how to connect those people with appropriate help from fellow employees, community resources or healthcare professionals. The courses offered by Inspire London College are approved and accredited by The CPD Certification Services and different organisations in specific fields, including IIRSM (International Institute of Risk and Safety Management), IATP (Independent Asbestos Training Providers), and IFE (Institution of Fire Engineers).
