Description

A mental health first-aider is needed when someone is struggling to cope with an ongoing mental health condition or when they are going through a mental health episode or crisis. Their role is to spot signs of potential problems, assess possible risks to the person and others, listen without judgement, give assistance or encourage the person to seek further help.

Throughout this course you will explore the different types of mental health issues and the signs and symptoms. You will then look at the roles and responsibilities of a mental health first-aider and how to recognise when someone is struggling. The course will end by looking at how to put mental health first aid into action.

Please note this course will not qualify you to become a mental health first-aider, instead it should be completed as an introduction into mental health first aid, or for those already qualified to refresh their skills and knowledge.

In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.

You will earn 3 CPD points on completion of the course, this course will take around 3 hours to complete and the certificate will last for two years.
