Overview
There’s a misconception that specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) or previously known as Special Educational Needs (SEN), are the same as learning disabilities. They refer to a group of conditions that affect how we process, learn or retain information. You may have heard about conditions like dyslexia, attention deficit disorder (ADD), and dyscalculia. But are you aware of their diagnosis or how to support individuals? Whether you’re a teaching or healthcare professional, our Level 2 Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties course; also known as SpLD or SEN, develops your knowledge of learning difficulties and barriers individuals may face.
Specific learning difficulties are prevalent throughout society. According to the British Dyslexia Association, 10% of the UK population are dyslexic. Furthermore, Demos, Britain’s leading think-tank, revealed that 5% of children and 2.5% of adults are affected by ADD. (And that’s just the people diagnosed). Thing is, these specific learning difficulties affect our coping mechanisms, how we manage our surroundings, but also our relationships with others. Of course, if we can help you to prevent this, we’re ready to support you!
Perhaps you know someone with specific learning difficulties? Maybe you want to better identify and support those living these difficulties? (SpLD). If so, then look no further. Our online Level 2 Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties SpLD course is a vital addition to any teaching, social or healthcare resume. You can study it in your own time and space, and gain a recognised RQF SEN qualification that will quickly develop your insight into specific learning difficulties. As a result, you can better support people and advance your chosen career.
