The NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health is a globally recognised qualification offered by an established independent UK examination board with nearly 30 years’ experience in providing health and safety awards in the UK and across the world. It is suitable for managers, supervisors and staff from all types of organisations making day-to-day decisions at work and who need a broad understanding of health and safety issues to be able to manage risk effectively.
Many people take the NEBOSH International General Certificate as a first step in a career in health and safety. It provides a valuable overview and is a sound basis for further professional study.

Description
This course is delivered by eLearning means via our dedicated online learning platform. Each candidate has their own learning portal to this platform which gives them access to their own course material at any time of day or night from anywhere in the world as long as they have internet access. Each time a candidate returns to the course, they will be directed to the point where they last left it.
When the candidate is satisfied with their progress and understanding of the subject matter, they can register to take their examination.

Exam dates are set by NEBOSH and are held several times a year (roughly every other month). There are two parts to the exam process. An open book exam that you can take from home and a practical.
Exam fees are not included in the course cost. The exams are now taken from the comfort of your own home or office as well so there is no longer a need to come to an exam facility.
The course fees include full tutor support.
The course will take around 100 hours of online study although there are no restrictions on how long each candidate can study other than having one year access to the course material.
The course is split into two main parts.
Part 1 covers Management of Health and Safety -

- How health and safety management systems work and what they look like
- Managing risk – understanding people and processes
- Health and safety monitoring and measuring
Part 2 covers Workplace Hazards and Risk Controls
- Physical and psychological health
- Musculoskeletal health
- Musculoskeletal hazards and risk control
- Chemical and biological agents
- General workplace issues
- Work equipment
- Fire
- Electricity
