Online PPE course – Personal Protective Equipment

This online Echo3 PPE course educates participants on the proper selection of PPE. And its appropriate use, maintenance, and disposal. Together this knowledge helps to mitigate hazards and ensure a safer workplace for all.

The course takes around 30 minutes, uses engaging videos and motion text and culminates in a short multiple-choice assessment.

On successful completion your certificate is available.

Following completion, we also store certificates securely online to help employers evidence due diligence towards the Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations amended in 2022.

Description

Personal Protective Equipment, or PPE, is equipment that protects workers against health and safety risks.

Unlike other safety systems, PPE only protects the individual using it and is designed to protect against specific risks.

PPE, you may encounter includes safety helmets, gloves, safety boots, eye protection, high-visibility clothing, weatherproof clothing and safety harnesses.

Not all protective items are classified as PPE.

Ordinary working clothes, uniforms and clothing provided for hygiene purposes are not included in the definition.

Portable safety devices for detecting and signalling risk, for example personal gas detectors, are also not considered PPE.
