Who should take this PUWER training course?
If a job role requires you to use equipment at work, then being familiar with what's covered under PUWER is much needed. If you look after equipment or employ those that do then looking after their health and safety is legally required by law.
Course Aim
The aim of the PUWER Training course is to make you aware of the measures and control one can use to stay safe while using particular types of equipment that fall under the PUWER Regulations.
Course Content
This course is made up of the following modules:

Introduction
Introducing the topic, emphasising the potential dangers of working with equipment in the workplace and the importance of taking steps to control the risks.

Module 1 - An Introduction to PUWER
This section introduces the PUWER regulations, lists examples of which equipment is covered, and lists the key duties placed on employers and employees.

Module 2 - Identifying and Reducing the Risks
This section of the course provides guidance for recognising risks, taking appropriate measures and reducing the risks.

Module 3 - Equipment Maintenance
In this final section, you’ll cover the responsibilities associated with manufacturing and buying equipment and the guidelines for maintenance and inspections.
Learning Objectives
Once completed the course, you should be able to:
- Identify the key requirements of the PUWER regulations
- State what equipment is covered
- Identify key duties and responsibilities
- Recognise the key risks associated with using work equipment
- Identify ways of reducing the risks when using work equipment
- Take appropriate action to maintain safety.
Course Duration
This course should take approximately 35 minutes to complete, but ultimately this is dependent on you as the learner.
Assessment
On completion of the course, you will be required to take an online assessment that will consist of 15 multiple-choice questions.
Successful candidates will have scored 75% (12) or above and will be given the option to print the certificate directly from the computer printer.
PUWER Training Certification
On successful completion of the online course assessment, you will be able to print/save your PUWER certificate. In addition to this, an email is sent to the candidate containing a link to the certificate.
This is the simplest, most convenient way to achieve compliance. Also, a QR code has been added to the certificate, which can be scanned by a smartphone to establish the certificate’s validity.
