The Level 3 Award for the Deliverers of Physical Intervention (PI) Course has been developed to provide competent trainers with the knowledge, understanding and skills to be able to safely and competently deliver a range of physical intervention techniques and associated factors. Level 3 physical intervention trainer development programme is the preferred choice for most major security and event organisations, venue operators and door supervisors. The course is also unique due the fact that it also qualifies successful participants with the skills to teach handcuff restraint.
Course media
Description
It gives learners the opportunity to:
- Develop an understanding of how to reduce the risk of harm, when physical intervention skills are used
- Develop knowledge related to physical intervention, specifically the legal and professional implications of their use
- Understand good practices to follow after physical interventions
- Learn about the use of non-aggressive physical skills to protect themselves and others from assault
- Be able to use non-pain compliant standing holding and escorting techniques, including non-restrictive and restrictive skills
- Achieve a nationally-recognised Level 3 qualification
- Achieve a licence to practise
- Develop their own personal growth and engagement in learning.
Course duration:
This is a classroom based 2 days session face to face with tutor support with a group of learners. You will be given a week after the 2 days class session to complete the coursework/assignment. However if you finish earlier, you will be awarded early as long as you meet the required standard, you do not need to wait for last minute.
Course Assessment:
There is a true/false test and physical intervention techniques demonstration required which will be taught in. At the end of the course you need to submit a portfolio by post/email to our head office. After successful completion you will receive a certificate and PI Licence
Agreement.
