Overview

As organisations increasingly turn to remote work and employees collaborate as dispersed teams, it is even more essential that leaders, managers and team members receive the tools they need to strengthen communication, productivity and engagement.

This virtual team workshop offers a blended learning experience that reveals individual and collective strengths, provides practical ways for teams to work together more effectively and supports strong workplace cultures – with or without a traditional office space.

By completing the eLearning and attending the online workshop, participants will:

  • Enhance their self-awareness with insights into their strengths
  • Understand how their preferences impact work relationships and styles
  • Recognise, celebrate and utilise the strengths of others
  • Enhance communication and collaboration
  • Improve outcomes using the power of cognitive diversity
  • Promote stronger, high-performance teams
  • Support a diverse and collaborative team and workforce

As part of the session - our signature 'Meeting of the Minds' team workshop - all attendees will receive an Emergenetics Profile – our robust psychometric profiling tool that measures how individuals prefer to think and behave.

Description

eLearning and questionnaire

Ahead of the live virtual workshop, participants will complete a short online questionnaire and interactive eLearning course to gain a foundational understanding of the Emergenetics science and model.

Live online workshop

In the online workshop, facilitated by an experienced certified Emergenetics Associate, attendees will:

  • Revisit the science of Emergenetics and practise applying their learning
  • Understand the diversity in the team and how that impacts day-to-day work
  • Discover new ways to communicate and collaborate more effectively
  • Receive their personal Emergenetics Profile and tip sheet
  • Develop a positive common language to discuss differences and strengthen team culture
  • Develop individual and team actions to improve performance

What does the Emergenetics Profile measure?

Developed through years of psychometric research, the Emergenetics Profile
uniquely measures how people think and behave.

Emergenetics accurately measures three behavioural attributes:

  • Expressiveness: Ranging from quiet and reserved to outgoing and gregarious
  • Assertiveness: Ranging from peacekeeping and accepting to competitive and driven
  • Flexibility: Ranging from focused and firm to accommodating of change

and four thinking attributes:

  • Analytical: An interest in logic, data and understanding the reasoning behind things
  • Structural: An interest in process and following rules and guidelines
  • Social: An interest in people and relationships
  • Conceptual: An interest in the big-picture, visioning and new ideas

The attributes are represented in a clear, colour-coded report, making it memorable and immediately applicable. Please see the pdf in the resources section below for an example of an Emergenetics Profile.

Embedding learning with the Emergenetics app

Each Profile also includes full access to the Emergenetics+ mobile app, which extends the Profile experience into an interactive digital environment. The app enables individuals to connect with others and compare Profiles for real-time interaction tips unique to you and your connections. It also includes a wealth of practical tools and communication advice to use in various situations, such as giving feedback, leading a remote team and managing stress.

Why use the Emergenetics Profile over other Profiling tools?

Developed from a foundation of psychology, social analytics and brain science, the Emergenetics Profile:

  • Measures both thinking and behavioural preferences separately and distinctively
  • Is scientifically robust and meets professional standards for psychometric testing for both validity and reliability
  • Is easy to read, interpret and remember
  • Includes an innovative mobile app that acts a personal coach in your pocket
  • Celebrates individual nuances, nobody is boxed in
  • Creates a positive, strengths-based language
  • Is easy to integrate and apply in day-to-day life and work

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
