Description

Learning outcomes

  • You will learn that it is important to develop a good relationship with the children in your setting
  • You will learn about the attributes of a practitioner who cares well for others
  • You will learn how to show wisdom and skill in deciding when something that is said to you should remain confidential and when it should be passed on

Advantages of this course

  • This course looks at the importance of the role of a key person in a childcare setting. The role is a legal requirement in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and is crucial in a child’s personal, social, and emotional development. A key person, working in partnership with parents/carers, can support a child to relate well to others, make friends and feel secure.
  • Gain access to resources to support starting and building upon a relationship with both the child and the parents, and find out more about attachment theory
  • Additional activities encourage you to reflect on your learning
  • There is also suggested extended reading that gives both practical information and links to websites to expand knowledge

On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Laser e-Certificate (included in the course price). You will also have the option of purchasing a CACHE Endorsed e-Certificate for an additional £4.99.

Endorsement statement: Our short course has been reviewed by a Subject Specialist and endorsed by CACHE demonstrating the quality and rigor. This is an unregulated programme and is not a nationally recognised qualification.

Hello Baljit, Thanks for your message. We do not have a record of your purchase from Reed but I believe they have had problems with communications recently. If you say you have paid we will believe you! If you let us have your e mail address we will send the codes and instructions. Thank you

Deb67 asked:

Does this course involve a multiple choice scenario OR detailed answers/assignments??

Answer:

Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. This course is assessed by a multiple choice quiz. You will be presented with 10 questions and to pass you have to get 8 of them correct. Each question will have a choice of 4 answers only one of which is correct. If you do not get 8 on the first attempt you can revisit the teaching and then go back and have another go, but you will get a different set of questions. I hope this helps.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
