Overview
The Distance Learning Veterinary Support Assistant course is a fully comprehensive course and it will give you an understanding of the roles of the veterinary team and the legal and ethical system in which they work. You will gain an awareness of basic anatomy and physiology of the dog and cat and Health and Safety procedures within a veterinary practice.
The course also covers the important issue of infection control and explains the basic equipment used commonly within a practice.

Description
For the Veterinary Support Assistant Level 3 course you will cover the following content:-
Module 1: The Roles of Members of the Veterinary Team
Module 2: Anatomy and Physiology of Dogs and Cats
Module 3: Health and Safety Within The Veterinary Practice
Module 4: Infection Control in the Veterinary Practice
Module 5: Veterinary Nursing Support of Diagnostic Techniques
Module 6: Understanding Veterinary Pharmacy
You must successfully complete a series of assignments. Once all assignments and activities have been completed satisfactorily, you will then be awarded your certificate. The good news is, there is no final exam.
The completion of this course alone does not lead to an Ofqual regulated qualification, but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills towards regulated qualifications in the future. The unit summary can be used as evidence towards your Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this sector.

You do not need any prior learning knowledge or experience to take this home study course. This course is openly available to anyone who wishes to take part in a highly rewarding home study course, although you would be expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy.

With experience, you could take on more responsibility, like practice management, supervising and training new staff, or working in veterinary supplies.
