Are you passionate about working with children on a 1:1 basis who need additional support with their learning?

If so, look no further! Randstad is searching for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to work in and around Darwen. This role would be suitable for an individual who wishes to work closely with a complex special need child. An SEN 1:1 teaching assistant is a highly rewarding role, which requires patience and understanding of specific needs - qualifications are desired but not essential! Ideally, we are looking for someone with excellent transferable skills, who is passionate about working with children.

Working Hours: 30 hours per week. 6 hours per week.

Roles include:

  • Supporting student's physical, social and emotional well-being
  • Working as part of a team
  • Being able to communicate well with children, manage their behaviour and resolve issues in the classroom
  • Mentoring and guiding students requiring extra support
  • Listening, discussing and explaining

Requirements :

  • Experience working or volunteering with SEN pupils
  • An enhanced DBS (or willingness to get one)
  • Knowledge of the curriculum
  • Have the desire to work with children with Special Educational Needs and or behavioural management needs
