About the Role:

A special needs school in Leeds is seeking a compassionate and skilled 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with autism and physical needs. This full-time, long-term position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the child's educational and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide one-to-one support to a child with autism and physical needs, focusing on their educational and social development.

- Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting learning materials to meet the child's needs.

- Support the child in developing communication, social, and life skills.

- Help manage classroom behaviour and provide a structured and nurturing environment.

- Assist with physical care, including mobility and personal care tasks, ensuring the child's comfort and safety.

- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor and report on the child's progress and well-being.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Experience working with children with autism and/or physical disabilities in a special educational needs (SEN) setting is preferred.

- A caring and patient attitude, with a strong commitment to supporting children with special needs.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate or equivalent, are advantageous.

- Willingness to undergo necessary background checks.
