1:1 Teaching Assistant

Hays Recruitment are proud to announce that one of our partnership schools is looking to recruit an experienced and reliable teaching assistant for a long-term temporary contract from September. This is a lovely single form entry school located on the outskirts of Runcorn, so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is advantageous. The working hours for this role are 12:30 to 18:00 Monday - Friday.

Your new role
In your new role as a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting pupils in KS1 (key stage 1) and KS2 (key stage 2) on a 1:1 basis. All the pupils you will be working with have diagnosed SEN and individual EHCP's. You will work with your new pupils in key areas as outlined on their EHCP, ranging from speech and language sessions, phonics, and sensory development. You will build a strong rapport with parents by liaising with them on their children's needs, development and outcomes. As well as directly supporting during school hours, you will also assist the schools in house afterschool club by planning, preparing and delivering a myriad of fun and engaging activities in a safe and inclusive environment.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience working with KS1 and/or KS2 aged children in the last 2 years, as well as:

• Previous experience working with SEN
• The ability to take a pupil-centred approach to learning
• A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is advantageous but not essential
