A Level History Tutor
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced A-Level History Tutor to support an 18-year-old student who is not currently attending a provision. This is a flexible and rewarding role, with tutoring required for 10 hours per week, spread across 2 hours per day. An additional 2 hours of planning and preparation time will also be provided weekly.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide one-on-one A-Level History tutoring tailored to the individual needs of the student.
- Design and deliver engaging lessons that meet the student’s educational needs and goals.
- Conduct a baseline assessment to measure the student's current level and track their academic progress.
- Utilise provided resources, including a Twinkl account, to enhance lesson delivery.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate the student's ASD and any other SEN needs or EHCP requirements.
- Maintain consistent communication with the student’s support team and provide regular progress updates.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- A minimum of 12 months of recent experience working in a UK school or Sixth Form.
- Proven experience teaching History at A-Level.
- Experience working with students with ASD and other SEN needs is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the UK A-Level curriculum and examination standards.
- Ability to assess, plan, and deliver effective lessons that foster student progress.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A passion for helping students achieve their academic potential.
