Our client, a leading energy group, seeks a new Compliance Manager to work alongside Legal and Internal Audit and drive group-wide awareness and implementation of the company compliance framework with a focus on UK Bribery Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act and local compliance statutes. Reporting direct to the Group General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer, duties will include;

  • Ensuring ongoing implementation and monitoring of ABC policies and procedures, including:
  1. staff compliance with gifts and hospitality reporting
  2. staff compliance with conflicts of interest reporting and mitigation
  3. reviewing and approving payments to governments, including per diems
  • Reviewing and approving corporate social responsibility projects
  • Managing vendor onboarding and vetting through the company's onboarding system and liaising with colleagues in supply chain teams in respect of the same. Utilizing automated screening tools and databases to conduct thorough sanctions checks.
  • Supporting the Chief Compliance Office with internal investigations from time to time.
  • Driving improvements in compliance awareness through the evaluation of needs, training, and development.
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding compliance-related inquiries.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities, ensuring confidentiality and data protection principles are upheld.

You should be educated to degree level with experience in compliance or risk management including anti-corruption laws (in particular the US FCPA 1977 and UK Bribery Act 2011). 

Full cross training provided for those changing sectors  whilst great chance to learn from very experienced General Counsel.

NB Role is 3-4 d pw in the Victoria office (1-2 d pw WFH) whilst benefits include subsidised travel (and FREE lunch allowance when in office) as well as an exceptional holiday allowance which includes 2 half day Fridays a month so equivalent to over 7 weeks PA (and also a generous bonus).
