Accountant/Auditor, Harrogate, £40-45,000+

An independent chartered accountancy practice in Harrogate is recruiting for an accountant/auditor.

To be considered you must have experience of working in an accountancy practice.

Their offices are modern with on-site parking and close to the bus links.

Duties

• Leading audits including liaising with clients on-site to complete the work

• Preparing accounts on behalf of clients across the portfolio.

• Inputting draft accounts onto the internal system.

• Bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, reconciling creditors.

• Reconciliation of PAYE and VAT.

• Processing and inputting VAT figures.

• Assisting in the preparation of year-end financial statements to clients.

• Assisting staff with any ad-hoc accounting projects as required.

• Helping to train/advise junior members of staff as required

Skills required:

• Previous experience of working within an accounting role within practice

• Excellent levels of attention to detail and accuracy.

• Quality organisational skills.

• Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.

• AAT/ACA/ACCA qualifications or PQ can be considered.

• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff

• Ability to work both independently and part of a team

This is predominantly an office based position.

Hours: Monday-Thursday: 9-5.30pm and 9-4.30pm on a Friday
