Role: Accountant / Client Manager in private practice

Hours: Full-Time - Hybrid Working (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm)

Location: London Colney, Herfordshire

Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 per annum

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant to join our clients Accountancy Firm, based in London Colney, Hertfordshire.

Our client is a family run firm offering full accounting, taxation and payroll solutions to a wide range of clients. They provide a professional, efficient and friendly service, tailored to their clients’ individual needs.

The team is friendly, supportive, loyal and professional, with a wealth of experience and knowledge. As an employer they fully invest in our team’s ongoing training and development, with a mixture of online and on the job training.

About the role

As a senior accountant/client manager you will have your own client base as well as a variety of other work to undertake. You will be expected to build relationships with those clients, supporting and understanding their specific needs to help them get the most out of their business.

You will oversee the bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts, statutory accounts, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns for your clients (amongst other tasks as required) with a combination of performing the work yourself and reviewing the work done by others.

You will also help, support and train other members of the team.

Accountant - Must haves:

  • At least 3 years practice experience
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients
  • Ability to manage your own workload and prioritise work to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Strong use of Excel and Word
  • Competent use of Xero, Quickbooks and Sage
  • ACA or ACCA part or fully qualified
  • 5 4-9 grade GCSEs (or equivalent) including mathematics
  • 3 A-C grade A-levels (or equivalent)

Accountant - Beneficial to have:

  • Experience of both personal and corporate tax and accounting
  • Ability to advise clients on different business structures and the relative benefits of each
  • Experience reviewing others work
  • Experience assisting with the training and development of other staff members
  • Experience of Tax Calc and Smart Vault

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with 1 hour for lunch. We offer hybrid working with a maximum of two days WFH.
