Reed Finance & Accountancy are looking for an Accountant to assist the finance team of a Southampton located client.

The role is initially agreed as a 12month Fixed Term contract to assist with the workload. However, that will be reviewed towards the end of the period, with potential for this to become permanent.

This role is Hybrid. You will be working 3 days in their offices located in Central Southampton.

Easily accessible by public transport with parking on site or nearby.

Your Experience and Skills:

  • Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant. (ACCA,CIMA,ACA) Will consider QBE.
  • Knowledge of Costing methods and Variance Analysis.
  • Management and Financial Reporting.
  • Excellent IT and spreadsheet skills. Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven verbal and report writing skills.
  • Able to work within a team environment.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse data.
  • Able to work on your own initiative.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Deadline focussed, diligent and accurate.

The Role and Responsibilities.

  • Assist with preparation of annual financial statements, in line with relevant accounting standards and legislation.
  • Assist with production of Reports and Analysis for management and non-financial management.
  • Assist Finance Business Partner with finance related queries.
  • Assist with Due Diligence reports
  • Assist with preparation of Audit.
  • Assist with preparation of VAT Returns.
  • Prepare, Provide and Interpret financial info to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Assist with Forecasting and Analysis
  • Responsible for Monitoring of Devolved Budgets, Capital projects, externally funded projects.
