A successful business based in Abbey Wood is seeking an accomplished Accountant to manage a small payroll team. This is a full-time, permanent position of 35 hours per week. Please note, you will be required to work in the office 5 days per week.

In this role of significant responsibility, you will manage a small team and oversee all payroll related activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing and compliance with legal regulations. You will manage both weekly and monthly payroll for circa 500 staff and will have demonstrable expertise managing the end-to end payroll lifecycle, including the calculation of earnings, deductions, benefits, sick pay and taxes.

You will be the main point of contact for payroll related issues and will have a deep knowledge of pension compliance too. Your remit will include the auto-enrolment of employees into the firm’s pension scheme, managing staging dates and contributions.  

In order to be suitable for this role, you will be a personable and organised Payroll professional with excellent communication skills. You will demonstrate proven experience of successfully managing a payroll function and will have a passion for continuous operational improvement. Previous experience with iTrent and/or Sage would be highly advantageous, whilst professional payroll accreditation (CIPP) is preferred.
