Accountant

REED Accountancy & Finance are seeking a Practice Accountant to join an independent, Owner managed firm with an established client base. This general practice role offers an interesting mix of Client Accounts preparation (for limited companies, sole traders and personal tax work) and up to 40% Audit Responsibilities.

This position would either suit an Audit experienced professional or a Practice candidate looking to widen their skillset within Audit (full training and support by the RI and Partner will be offered).  

• Conduct accounts preparation for a varied client portfolio, including limited companies and sole traders.
• Engage in personal tax work, with the opportunity to expand in this area if of interest.
• Participate in audit work, comprising roughly 40% of the role’s responsibilities.
• Utilise computerised accounts preparation packages, such as Xero, and engage with Making Tax Digital initiatives.
• Work closely with SME and Larger Corporate clients( including £100 million turnover clients) 

• Previous work experience in an accountancy practice, with a focus on accounts preparation and/or audit work.
• Proficiency in computerised accounts preparation packages, including Xero.
• Familiarity with Making Tax Digital is highly advantageous.
• A solid understanding of taxation principles.
• Ability to work independently and take on early responsibility.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
