I'm looking for a sharp, dynamic and results-driven Accountant to cover a period of maternity for the next 12 months.

This is a great opportunity to join a corporate business with a start up feel as they navigate a recent acquisition, restructure and new system implementation!

Duties will include

  • Financial accounting, budgeting, cash flow, and tax
  • Prepare consolidated month-end accounts and balance sheet recs
  • Handle prepayments, accruals, journals, and VAT returns
  • Support with revenue recognition
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and annual asset reviews
  • Help with audits, statutory accounts, and corporation tax analysis
  • Assist in annual budgeting
  • Cover AP/AR, cashbook entry
  • Check and review payroll entries and liase with outsourced provider


What you'll need to bring:

  • Solid finance experience in a similar role
  • Experience of budget preparation, project accounting and revenue recognition principles (ideal)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Be naturally inquisitive, have an analytical mindset and a proactive approach to problem solving
  • A strong communicator with business partnering skills
  • Detail-focused, able to self manage and a team player


Their offices are on the outskirts of Cambridge and are easily accessible by public transport and with plenty of free on site parking.

You will be required to work on site Monday to Friday, but with flexible working hours so you can choose what works for you - early start/early finish or vice versa (min 37.5 hours per week, with a 30 minute lunch).

Ideally, you will be able to start within the next month but those on a short notice period can also be considered.
