Accounts Assistant | Sittingbourne | Up to £30K

Our client is a forward-thinking company committed to excellence in every aspect of the business. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This role will predominantly focus on managing the purchase ledger and ensuring smooth and accurate financial transactions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices and ensure they are accurately recorded in the financial system.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare and process payment runs, ensuring timely payments to suppliers.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and manage any queries or issues that arise.
  • Maintain and update the purchase ledger, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including reconciling accounts payable.
  • Support the finance team with other accounting tasks as needed, including audits and financial reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments to resolve any payment or invoicing issues.
  • Covering sales ledger and credit control when needed.

Candidate Profile:

  • Excellent numerical and data entry skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
