Accounts Assistant

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Location: East London
  • Salary: £30k - £35k per annum
  • Working Hours: 08:00 – 17:00
  • Hybrid role (1 day work from home) ; 4-5 days in the office

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Accounts Assistant to provide additional support to our Finance team on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will be numerate and an excellent team player. While previous experience in an accounts position is beneficial, we are committed to providing comprehensive training for the right individual.

You will be joining a finance team of 16-18 in a vibrant and friendly office environment. As this company has transitioned into a new ERP system, your role will be instrumental in supporting this change.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Processing Sub-Contract Payment Certificates.
  • Addressing queries from our Commercial Team.
  • Managing Split VAT invoices and payments.
  • Handling retention payment processing.
  • Verifying subcontractors for CIS.
  • Checking subcontractor insurance validity.
  • Ensuring the Self-Bill Register is up to date.
  • Processing weekly BACS runs.
  • General AP responsibilities, including fielding calls from the business and suppliers, and maintaining a clean Aged Creditors ledger.

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Experience within an accounts department is preferred.
  • Knowledge of CIS is advantageous.
  • Numerate with a strong interest in Finance.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player mentality.
