Accounts Assistant, £20-25K DOE, Harrogate

Initially a 6-month contract with the potential to go permanent

Do you have some general accounts experience? Are you available at short notice?

Due to extra work load our client is looking for an Accounts Assistant to support the team. This would initially be on a 6-month contract, however, there is the opportunity for this role to become permanent.

The role provides support to the UK Head Office finance team, reporting to the Global Management Accountant.

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience working within a finance function an advantage
  • Experience of working to deadlines, problem solving, working well in a team
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint and Outlook

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with posting and management of Purchase ledger
  • Post month end related transactions: Depreciation journals, Accruals and Prepayments
  • Assist with preparation of month end financial reports and analysis
  • Filing of invoices and paperwork
  • Answering the telephone and taking card payments over the phone
  • Allocate bank payments /receipts
  • Provide cover for Finance Assistant role when required
  • Work with the Finance team to assist with yearend audit
  • Other ad hoc office admin
