Accounts Assistant

  • Job Type: Part-time
  • Location: Runcorn
  • Salary: Up to £26,000 (pro-rata)

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our team within the legal sector. This part-time position offers a competitive salary, hybrid working options, and the flexibility to work 21-25 hours per week over 3 or 5 days.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Perform daily banking and bank reconciliations.
  • Handle BACS and CHAPS payments and facilitate inter-account transfers.
  • Process client payments and monitor bank accounts for incoming funds and transfers.
  • Address general queries from fee earners and auditors.
  • Process invoices and check completion statements, ensuring compliance with SAR, money laundering, and VAT regulations.
  • Assist with credit control duties and prepare weekly payment runs.
  • Deal with suppliers and process expenses and company credit card transactions.
  • Resolve ledger queries and handle sundry transaction requests.
  • Support the finance manager with projects and routine accounts duties.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Willingness to undertake additional training as required.
  • Demonstrated reliability, organisation, and teamwork.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality for internal and external clients.
