Accounts Assistant

Location: High Wycombe (Office-based)
Salary: Up to £30k

Our client is a small, independently owned business located in High Wycombe. They pride themselves on creating a welcoming and supportive work environment. Having been in business for over 20 years, they are well established in the local area.

About the Job:

This full-time position requires an easy-going, motivated individual to join the accounts team. The role involves a variety of tasks to support the smooth running of the finance department, however the main responsibility is the processing of the purchase ledger. 

Duties will include:

  • Cash and journal postings
  • Inputting and printing invoices, matching them to delivery notes
  • Making payments and reconciling supplier statements
  • Handling queries related to supplier statements
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with VAT returns, month-end processes, and management accounts
  • Providing general administrative support
  • Training in various accounts office tasks to cover absences and holidays

About the Successful Applicant:

The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well within a team. Prior experience in an accounts role and proficiency in using accounting software are desirable.
