Accounts Assistant

  • Location: Bury St Edmunds
  • Job Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm
  • Salary: Up to £13p/h DOE

An established organisation situated in Bury St Edmunds is seeking an experiencedAccounts Assistant to join their small and supportive finance team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in purchase ledger and a confident approach to learning new systems and processes.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Processing purchase invoices with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Performing statement reconciliations to ensure accuracy of accounts.
  • Investigating and resolving supplier queries promptly.
  • Preparing payment runs to ensure timely supplier payments.
  • Managing the cashbook and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Assisting with sales invoicing and contributing to the revenue cycle.
  • Supporting the credit control process by chasing outstanding debts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in purchase ledger and general accounting tasks.
  • A confident approach to adopting new systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of other areas of the accounts function is beneficial.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
