Accounts Assistant - Step Up in Your Career!

Annual Salary: Up to £30k, dependent on experience
Location: Cheltenham (Hybrid)
Job Type: Full-time

Reed Accountancy is excited to partner with a key client to find a dynamic Accounts Assistant. This role is pivotal in supporting the financial operations of the business, maintaining financial records, preparing reports, processing transactions, and providing administrative support to senior finance team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Management Accounts: Reconcile business bank accounts, maintain balance sheet reconciliations, analyse variances, manage fixed asset registers, and assist in preparing monthly management accounts for group entities.
  2. Management Information: Produce monthly cost centre reports and share management information with stakeholders.
  3. Statutory Audit: Address statutory audit queries promptly.
  4. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Ensure timely input of supplier invoices, liaise with budget holders for payment approvals, manage credit card entries, assist with client invoicing, reconcile commission payments, and produce aged debt reports.
  5. VAT & General Support: Prepare quarterly VAT returns and support the finance team with daily tasks and general finance administration.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • AAT qualification, with an ambition to pursue Chartered studies.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
