Job description

Overview:
We are seeking a detail orientated Bookkeeper to join our team, experienced in using Quickbooks accounting software. This is a part time position based in our office.

Duties:

Purchase ledger

Process and verify invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests from suppliers and customers.

Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure accuracy.

Monitor payment due dates and follow up on outstanding invoices.

Maintain a systematic filing system for invoices, receipts, and financial documents.

Monthly Payroll

Work with management to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Calculate and verify payroll components, including taxes, deductions, and benefits.

Bank Reconciliation:

Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate recording of transactions.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies between company records and bank statements.

VAT

Check and submit accurate return figures to HMRC via Quickbooks

CIS (Construction Industry Scheme)

Maintain and monitor advance payments made by Contractors to HMRC.

Reconcile CIS deductions against PAYE/NIC payments made to HMRC

Financial Analysis:

Assist in preparing financial reports and analysis for budgeting and forecasting purposes.

Assist in the preparation of financial documentation for internal and external audits.

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Proficiency in Quickbooks accounting software
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
