Accounts Payable Assistant

Are you a skilled and experienced Accounts Payable professional ready to take the next step in your career? At CTD Tiles, we're seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to join our dedicated team. Reporting directly to the Accounts Payable Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless processing of supplier invoices and payments, while actively contributing to our mission of excellence and innovation in the tile industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and verify supplier invoices and credit notes
• Obtain approval for invoices and payments from managers across the business
• Obtain refunds for supplier accounts in credit
• Carry out supplier statement reconciliations
• Resolving queries through liaising with suppliers, branches and budget holders
• Dealing with stock delivery queries against purchase orders, accurately and in a timely manner
• Ensuring that supplier invoices are ready for payment when due
• Keeping supplier information held by CTD up to date and accurate
• Building a strong understanding of the procurement and purchase order processes
• Assist in providing information to auditors
• Assisting with the implementation of new systems and processes
• Working closely with the management accounts team to help with month end reporting
• General administrative duties such as dealing with inbound post to the department and electronic filing of paperwork and scanning
• Support ad hoc projects or activities as required
• Identifying issues and resolving them through route cause analysis

Skills & Personal Attributes:

You will have/be: 

• Preferably working towards AAT qualification
• Experience in an accounts payable team previously
• Knowledge of accountancy principles related to payments and liabilities
• Experience in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills to be able to work with suppliers and non-finance colleagues within CTD
• Strong excel skills
• Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks
• Desire and willingness to learn
• Initiative, with an enquiring mind and proactive
• A great team player, continually supporting all members of the team
