The role of Accounts Payable Clerk is crucial to the efficient functioning of the Accounting & Finance department in a leading transport & distribution company. The ideal candidate will handle accounts payable duties, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transactions.

Description

  • Processing invoices and maintaining the accounts payable ledger.
  • Performing monthly reconciliations of supplier statements.
  • Managing payment runs and dealing with supplier queries.
  • Assisting in the preparation of month-end accounts payable reports.
  • Handling petty cash and expense claims.
  • Supporting the wider finance team as necessary.
  • Ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory compliance.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Profile

A successful Accounts Payable Clerk should have:

  • An educational background in accounting or finance.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in numerical tasks.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Good communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
