Accounts Payable Clerk

Your new company
An exciting technology service provider within the entertainment industry based in Solihull is currently looking to recruit a permanent Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team. This would suit someone who has strong Accounts Payable experience and is looking to develop their career in a new industry.

Your new role

• Day to day processing of purchase invoices
• Ensure that invoices are authorised for payment by relevant department managers and matched to Purchase Orders.
• Ensure that invoices are recorded and entered on the Sage 50 system using appropriate account codes and that payments are posted on the system accurately.
• Dealing with all enquiries related to invoices/payments, answering telephone calls and emails, and liaising with relevant departments as necessary to ensure enquiries are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist in the management of the shared AP inbox.
• Set up new supplier accounts and amend existing supplier details as and when required.
• Reconciliation of supplier accounts as well as identifying and correcting accounting errors.
• Assist with period end close activities

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Good IT skills and knowledge of using Excel and accounting software.
• Meticulous eye for detail and good planning and organisational skills.
• Good telephone manner.
• Ability to multitask and work in a busy, fast-paced and challenging environment.
• Ability to take initiative and a practical approach to problem-solving.
• Positive and flexible approach to work.
