Reed Accountancy are pleased to be partnered with a returning Global manufacturing company as they seek an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. You will be operating out of their Maidenhead office, working a hybrid model of 2 days in the office and 3 days from home each week.

Reporting into the Accounts Payable Manager, the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of double-entry accounting and the ability to work under pressure. You will have at least 2 years of experience in accounts payable, be proficient in Excel, and have experience handling high volumes of invoices.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Process and manage high volumes of invoices, approximately 1000 monthly across the team.
  • Conduct weekly payment runs and direct debit postings.
  • Handle the German ledger, processing around 250 invoices monthly, with additional responsibilities for NSSD and other accounts to total approximately 340 invoices each.
  • Manage the accounts payable inbox and support with queries on a daily basis.
  • Maintain aged creditors, ensuring timely payments and resolving any outstanding issues.
  • Monitor invoice approvals and generate weekly reports for management review.
  • Prepare biannual government reports on payment practices.
  • Collaborate with a strong existing team to maintain efficient AP processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an accounts payable role.
  • Strong understanding of double-entry accounting and journal postings.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Experience with high volume invoice processing.
  • Ability to work under pressure and provide examples of doing so.
  • Familiarity with foreign entities and VAT structures, particularly within European countries.
  • German language skills (speaking, reading, writing) would be highly beneficial.
  • Understanding of intercompany transactions.
  • Experience with month-end closing processes.
